Bandar Seri Begawan - The Department of Agriculture, under the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, yesterday signed an agreement on the Agro Technology Park with SQW Consulting of the United Kingdom at the Agriculture Department headquarters.

Signing on behalf of the Department of Agriculture was Acting Senior Special Duties Officer Pengiran Hjh Rosidah bte Pengiran Haji Metussin, while SQW Consulting was represented by its director, Dr Kathrin Peters.

Brunei is collaborating with religious agencies in developing the Brunei Halal Brand to ensure its success in the regional market.

"In other countries, the halal developing corporations do not collaborate with religious ministries and agencies. They work separately. We work together with them. We have the credibility plus full support from the government," said Normah SH Jamil, a senior officer at the Agriculture Department of the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR).

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR) and Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), adding a new dimension to the working relationship between both institutions through a framework of collaboration and cooperation in support of a sustainable knowledge-based economy for the present and future generations of Brunei.

The ceremony was held at the Empire Hotel and Country Club.

UNIVERSITI Brunei Darussalam (UBD) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR) to conduct joint academic and research programmes with the ministry in the near future.

The areas of cooperation under the MoU will include information and knowledge exchanges, attachment programmes, study visits, as well as research and consultancy activities relevant to improving industrial policies in the sultanate.

INNOVATIVE technology will boost the credibility of the Brunei Halal Brand, courtesy of scientific research findings by the Department of Agriculture and Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

This a result of collaboration between the two institutions toward strengthening the methods by which the accreditation process for the brand will be undertaken.

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei Government has tapped the services of a UK-based consultancy in drawing up the master plan for an agro-technology park that is deemed critical for the sultanate to create a niche in the global market for halal products.

The Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources' Department of Agriculture recently drew up an agreement with SQW Consulting to assist the department in developing the Brunei Agro Technology Park.
